2016 1L SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM – PRUDENTIAL FINANCIAL, INC. [DEADLINE: FEB. 12, 2016 BY 5 P.M. EST]

The ABA’s Commission on Disability Rights is pleased to partner with Prudential Financial, Inc. to provide a meaningful summer internship opportunity for a highly motivated, first-year law student with a disability.

Requirements: (1) Be (or become) a member of the ABA; (2) law student with a disability; and (3) scheduled for graduation in Spring 2017 (full-time students) or Spring 2018 (part-time students)

  • GPA: Must have successfully completed the first year with a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)

Submission components: (1) Cover letter, (2) resume, (3) list of 3 references, and (4) copy of transcript

SCHOLARSHIP update:

EJW PUBLIC INTEREST AWARDS [DEADLINE: MAR. 1, 2016]

This year, Equal Justice Works’ National Advisory Committee is presenting awards to law students at EJW member schools in eight regions who have a demonstrated commitment to public interest law and pro bono work. FIU Law is in the Southeast region, and the National Advisory Committee representatives are Jennifer Powell and Jennifer Hector. The EJW Public Interest Awards seek to identify and honor law students who have provided extraordinary service through law school clinics, volunteer work, internships, and/or extracurricular projects.

Eligibility: Have a demonstrated commitment to public interest law and pro bono work

Award: Recipients will be honored during an Award Ceremony with a commemorative plaque and a monetary award of $250
