UNIVERSITY-WIDE SCHOLARSHIPS [DEADLINE: TOMORROW – APRIL 11, 2014]

Log in to fiu.academicworks.com with your MyAccounts username and password.

Search for “University Wide Scholarships” and apply for graduate scholarships.

University-Wide Graduate Scholarships Details: MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL GRADUATE UNIVERSITY WIDE SCHOLARSHIPS — the criteria below applies to all university-wide graduate scholarships, unless otherwise specified under the additional specific criteria for each award:

  • Fully admitted, graduate, degree-seeking student
  • Graduate student must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3
  • Student must be enrolled FULL time: At least 6 graduate credits during the term of the award, unless otherwise indicated
  • Submission of a typed personal statement (double-spaced, 2-page maximum) that describes your career/professional ambitions
  • Submission of 1 letter of recommendation on professional letterhead.  Letter MUST be from a teacher, professor, academic counselor or adviser who can attest to student’s academic potential, leadership qualities, and/or community service

This one application is used to award ALL of the scholarships listed below.  Number of awards varies per scholarship.  Some of these scholarships require submission of an extra essay or documentation to be considered.  Please review the application questions carefully and submit the corresponding documentation required for each scholarship if you think you qualify.  *Note: only some scholarships require extra documents.

Graduate University-Wide Scholarships Available:

  • ADOLFO HENRIQUES SCHOLARSHIP – $500.
  • CHARLES PERRY GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP – $2,500.
  • CORAL GABLES HOSPITAL SCHOLARSHIP – $500.
  • DR. EMILIO JANÉ SCHOLARSHIP – $1,000.
  • HARRIET ROBINSON SCHOLARSHIP – $500.
  • JANE D. COPE – $500.
  • JEAN-CLAUDE GARCIA-ZAMOR SCHOLARSHIP – $1,000.
  • LUCILLE E. SNAITH SCHOLARSHIP – $5,000.
  • MANUEL & MERCEDES MOSTEIRO – $750.
  • MERCEDES G. CARREÑO SCHOLARSHIP – $500.
  • NEW DONOR MATCHING SCHOLARSHIP – $500.
  • RALPH SANCHEZ GRAND PRIX SCHOLARSHIP – $2,500.

Supplemental Questions:

  1. C.A.M.P 4 Justice Human Rights Scholarship – Please upload an additional personal statement or essay indicating your vision of the role of human rights in our society and your dedication to the furtherance of human rights.
  2. Coral Gables Hospital Scholarship – Please provide a letters from Human Resources confirming you are an employee or child of an employee of Coral gables Hospital.
  3. Jean-Claude Garcia-Zamor Scholarship – Please affirm in writing that you are of Haitian American descent.  For the purposes of this scholarship, “Haitian American” is defined as an individual of Haitian ancestry who, at the time of application, is an individual who lives in the United States and is either a U.S. citizen of has permanent resident status in the U.S.
  4. Dr. Emilio Jané Scholarship – Are you of Cuban descent?
    • Are you of Cuban descent?
    • If yes, please explain.
