2014 AMERICAN ASSOCIATION FOR JUSTICE (AAJ) – LAW STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS [DEADLINE: MAY 1, 2014]
The AAJ is proud to announce its 2014 Law Student Scholarship cycle has begun. AAJ has 4 scholarships available for qualified law students:
- THE RICHARD D. HAILEY LAW STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP: AAJ’s Minority Caucus awards up to 6 scholarships of $1,000 to African American, Hispanic, Asian American, Native American, and Biracial Law Student Members who are entering their 1L, 2L, or 3L year of law school.
- THE TRIAL ADVOCACY SCHOLARSHIP: Open to all AAJ Law Student Members who are entering their 2L and 3L year of law school. This $3,000 scholarship is awarded to the applicant who best demonstrates (1.) a commitment to AAJ and its mission; (2.) a desire to represent victims; (3.) interest and skill in trial advocacy; and (4.) financial need.
- THE LEESFIELD SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship, sponsored by AAJ and AAJ member Ira Leesfield, is available to 2Ls and 3Ls and awards $2,500 to Law Student Member to subsidize attendance at AAJ’s Annual Convention.
- THE MIKE EIDSON SCHOLARSHIP: Awards $5,000 annually to a female student entering her 3L year of law school (day program or evening program) who has demonstrated a commitment to a career as a trial lawyer, along with dedication to upholding and defending the principles of the Constitution, and to the concept of a fair trial, the adversary system, and a just result for the injured, the accused, and those whose rights are jeopardized. Who: With the exception of the Mike Eidson Scholarship, applicants must be AAJ Law Student Members to qualify for the scholarships. Law students can join AAJ for $15/yr. Student membership applications can be found @ justice.org/MemberServices/Tier3/membership2013.pdf

PLI LAW STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP [DEADLINE: NO LATER THAN 4 WEEKS PRIOR TO THE START OF THE SEMINAR]
The Practising Law Institute (PLI) offers a Law Student Scholarship for the Patent Office Registration Exam Review Course (formerly “PLI’s Patent Bar Review”).
