JUSTICE IN FAMILY LAW SCHOLARSHIP [DEADLINE: JUNE 12, 2024]

The Law Office of George J. Skuros understands that rising costs make it difficult for individuals seeking a college education. As a result, our firm offers a twice-a-year $1,000 scholarship opportunity to those in a law school program pursuing their J.D.

Eligibility: Students at least 18 years old and are U.S. citizens

JUDGE MARCIA G. COOKE PUBLIC INTEREST SCHOLARSHIP [DEADLINE: JUNE 14, 2024]

The South Florida Chapter of the Federal Bar Association has created a scholarship to honor the life and memory of the Honorable Marcia G. Cooke. Judge Cooke dedicated her life to public service, working in a variety of positions in local, state and federal government before ultimately becoming the first Black female federal district judge in the State of Florida and, to date, the only Black female federal district judge to have served in the Southern District of Florida.

The recipient will be selected during Summer 2024 and will be notified prior to the start of the Fall 2024 Semester.

Eligibility: This scholarship will be awarded to a local law student (from Florida International University College of Law, St. Thomas University College of Law, or University of Miami School of Law) who has demonstrated a commitment to, and intends to pursue a career in, public service.

Award: $5,000
