CONGRESSIONAL BUDGET OFFICE – SUMMER 2022 LEGAL INTERNSHIP [DEADLINE: FEB. 13, 2022]

The Office of General Counsel seeks a legal intern with a strong work ethic to assist in a variety of support services in the Office of General Counsel during the summer of 2022. The successful candidate will report directly to the General Counsel. Duties include conducting legislative research, drafting contracts, supervised counseling of clients on issues involving government ethics, learning to review government contracts, and conducting other legal research to support CBO’s analytic activities. Additional responsibilities include drafting legal memorandums and briefs about the significance to CBO of various court decisions, assisting with statutory interpretation, and verifying legal citations in CBO draft reports.

Who: Candidates must have completed their first two years of law school by May 31, 2022. CBO is not accepting recent graduates. The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and complete projects under tight deadlines is required. Candidates should have strong communication and organizational skills and be able to perform requested legal and factual research using both electronic and manual library searches. Strong interpersonal skills are a must, and candidates should be able to work independently and as a part of a team. Training or experience in legislative affairs and prior paralegal or legal office experience is desired but not required.

LEMON LAW EXPERT’S SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM [DEADLINE: FEB. 25, 2022]

The Lemon Law Experts have represented thousands of consumers throughout the State of California for over a decade.  Our firm has a strong connection to our community and is committed to helping the next generation of attorneys.  We are excited to offer one $1,000 scholarship every six months.

Founding Partner, Jessica Anvar is a strong supporter of higher education and believes students should be able to follow their dream career paths. This is why the Lemon Law Experts is proud to offer a scholarship award to a deserving current or prospective law school student to help pay a portion of the winner’s upcoming college or law school costs.

MAX BY ACCESSLEX® SCHOLARSHIP INCENTIVES

No matter if you’re a 1L just finding your footing in the classroom, a 2L looking for the perfect internship and deciding on a career path, or a 3L preparing for the bar exam and interviewing to start your career, there is always something competing for your attention. But, in short – your money matters! That’s why MAX has built-in incentives to help you maintain motivation and momentum as you progress through the personal finance curriculum developed just for law students like you.

  • MAX automatically enters you into scholarship drawings for:
    • Completing content modules
    • Attending MAX events online or in-person
    • Filling out the 15 question annual survey
  • Six (6) $5,000 scholarship drawings (2 for 1Ls, 2 for 2Ls and 2 for 3Ls) will take place in both November and February. Each eligible MAX activity completed on an individual level earns an entry into the scholarship drawing pool. The twelve randomly selected students will each have a $5,000 scholarship check sent directly to their institution for application to their student account.
  • Six (6) $25,000 scholarship drawings (2 for 1Ls, 2 for 2Ls and 2 for 3Ls) will occur in April. Entries earned by completing MAX activities during the 2020-2021 academic year will be cumulative and will be included in the April drawings. Up to $25,000 will be paid to each 1L, 2L and 3L winner’s institution toward the following year’s tuition.
  • Three (3) $40,000 scholarship drawings (1 for 1Ls, 1 for 2Ls and 1 for 3Ls) will also occur in April. Entries earned by completing MAX activities during the 2020-2021 academic year will be cumulative and will be included in the April drawings. Up to $40,000 will be paid to each 1L, 2L and 3L winner’s institution toward the following year’s tuition.
