ACCESS TO JUSTICE TECH FELLOWS PROGRAM [DEADLINE: APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED ON A ROLLING BASIS]

We’re thrilled to continue this work in equipping the next generation of civil justice leaders to ensure equitable access to justice for all!

About the 2019 Fellows Program: The Access to Justice Tech Fellows programs equips the next generation of civil justice leaders with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to build a more responsive civil justice system. One that ensures equitable access and fair outcomes for low-income and marginalized populations. Law students intern at an partner legal services organization where they’ll leverage technology, data, and user-centered design approaches to develop solutions that address barriers preventing low-income Americans from receiving legal help. Fellows will receive a $5,000 stipend for their service over the summer and have the opportunity to receive academic credit.

Bridging the Civil Justice Gap: Fellows learn the systemic role of race, class, power, identity and privilege have in disproportionate outcomes of accessing our civil justice system. Readily able to tackle the most complex challenges that serve as barriers to legal access.

Dynamic Learning Experiences: Fellows participate in an intensive training on the foundations of the U.S. civil justice system and a host of other interdisciplinary skills related to development of technology enabled legal service solutions.

Professional Development: Fellows will attend weekly virtual webinar sessions that feature leaders from the civil justice community and legal tech space. Gaining insight and exposure from a national network of experts on topics at the intersections of technology and access to justice.
