INTERNATIONAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (ICC): 2016 INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES WITH SICANA INC. [APPLICATIONS REVIEWED ON A ROLLING BASIS]

As a leading international arbitral institution, the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (“International Court of Arbitration”) attracts a growing caseload from all over the world.  SICANA Inc., the provider of ICC arbitration and ADR services in North America, is currently accepting intern applications.

Tasks entrusted to intern will include: Reading, commenting on and drafting documents related to current arbitration cases; and doing research for the preparation of work documents, conferences, presentations and publications.

Who: Seeking J.D. candidates, LL.M. candidates, or those admitted to a bar. All non-U.S. candidates must be eligible to intern throughout the duration of the internship.

Where: The intern will be under the supervision of the North America case management team based in New York City

When: 2 months in Spring 2016 and 3 months in Summer 2016. The coming available periods are Apr. 4 – May 27, 2016 and June 6 – Aug. 26, 2016.

Requirements: Coursework or prior practice in international commercial arbitration preferred

Submission components: Applications should be prepared in English and include (1) a short CV (2 pages maximum focusing on the experience relevant to the internship); (2) a cover letter (no model provided), describing in a detailed way which arbitration/mediation classes you followed and your first professional experience(s) in relation to arbitration/mediation; and (3) please indicate clearly your availability and which internship period your application is being submitted for.

2016 MICROSOFT LEGAL INTERNSHIP FOR LAW STUDENT WITH A DISABILITY [DEADLINE: MAR. 17, 2016 BY 5 P.M. EST]

The American Bar Association’s (ABA) Commission on Disability Rights is pleased to partner with Microsoft to provide a meaningful summer internship opportunity for a highly motivated, first-year law student living with a disability.

Legal interns will work within Microsoft’s Corporate, External, and Legal Affairs department and will have a broad range of responsibilities from across the department, which may include researching legal issues impacting business strategy, drafting transactional documents, attending client meetings and product reviews, and collaborating with internal teams on cross-group projects. Get ready to overcome challenges, forge solutions, and provide direct counsel to the cutting edge of the world’s most dynamic industry.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Be (or become) a member of the American Bar Association
  • Be a law student living with a disability (as defined by WHO), whether that be visual, hearing, mobility, cognitive, or speech
  • Skills:
    • Have excellent analytical ability and legal drafting skills
    • Have excellent oral and written communications skills
    • Be able to communicate effectively across a large number of diverse internal groups, teams, and divisions
    • Have a demonstrated ability to work efficiently, meet deadlines, and manage multi-dimensional projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Be able to research and learn new concepts and legal issues quickly to facilitate problem solving

CABA PRO BONO PROJECT – MEGA CITIZENSHIP DAY [MAR. 19, 2016]

CABA Pro Bono is in need of pro bono attorneys and volunteer law students to help complete naturalization applications. They are expecting over 600 legal permanent residents that are interested in becoming U.S. citizens.

*An optional training will be provided to those interested on Friday, Mar. 18.
