EVENT_ABAAntitrustInTheAmericas

The Antitrust in the Americas is a unique conference that brings together leading practitioners, government enforcers, in-house counsel, economists and scholars to discuss significant developments in competition law enforcement, priorities, policy and compliance issues covering key antitrust jurisdictions in North and South America. Competition law enforcement continues to grow in South America and multinational corporations where major M&A transactions, global and local cartel conduct, and aggressive conduct by market leaders face close scrutiny. The Conference will offer interactive programs that cover developments and topics of interest to practitioners and corporate counsel, as well as provide opportunities to network.

The program will include developments in multijurisdictional cartel and merger cases – including issues that arise in coordinating global investigations, defense strategies, timing, settlements and remedies in the relevant jurisdictions.

A key session of the conference will be a round table of enforcers representing key jurisdictions in the Americas who will discuss their enforcement priorities, challenges, and collaborative efforts with their counterparts across borders.

The conference will also feature an interactive case study on compliance in which corporate counsel, practitioners and enforcers will share their experiences and best practices on developing and operating effective compliance programs throughout the region.  This and other sessions will be designed to facilitate audience participation and discussion.
