THE INTERNET & TELEVISION ASSOCIATION (NCTA) – LEGAL INTERNSHIP [DEADLINE: MAR. 31, 2019]

NCTA, the principal trade association of the cable industry in the United States, is seeking a full-time legal intern for Summer 2019.

NCTA’s Internship Program is designed to offer awareness and exposure to the cable industry. Legal interns at NCTA work alongside members of the legal department and focus on a variety of legal issues important to the cable industry.

NCTA’s legal department monitors and participates in all relevant FCC, FTC, Copyright Office, and other federal regulatory proceedings; participates in litigation affecting the cable industry; responds to other federal regulatory agencies when cable-related issues are involved; monitors state regulatory actions; assists NCTA members with cable related questions; and participates in academic and research activities involving cable. Staff authors briefs, pleadings, position papers and testimony, and assists in lobbying efforts on behalf of the NCTA’s membership. The department also manages the economic and policy research necessary to support industry positions before the courts, Congress, federal agencies, and public policy organizations.

Examples of legal intern projects include:

  • Conducting legal research and drafting legal memoranda;
  • Monitoring developments in ongoing government proceedings;
  • Attending industry and government roundtable and other events; and
  • Drafting pleadings and NCTA communications.
