ANTI-DEFAMATION LEAGUE (ADL) 2018 SUMMER ASSOCIATE RESEARCH PROGRAM (SARP) [DEADLINE: APR. 30, 2018]

For more than a decade, The Anti-Defamation League’s Summer Associate Research Program has provided summer law students at premier law schools and law firms across the nation with pro bono opportunities to research and write on cutting edge civil rights issues. The majority of the questions and topics researched arise from actual issues or incidents encountered by ADL’s regional offices during the past year. The work product serves as an important resource for ADL’s year-round advocacy work. Students will research and draft a memorandum of law, as well as a summary of their findings, which will be published in their 2018 Program Booklet.

FIU College of Law has participated five times, in 2012-2014 and 2016-2017, and they are excited for 2018 participation!

*PLEASE NOTE: No matter what your plans are this summer, participating in SARP is a great way to utilize your research and writing skills, get published, and receive pro bono credit.

When: The program typically spans from June through early Aug. Generally, a student commits 15-20 hours over the course of the summer

  • In early summer, they will hold an Opening Breakfast Reception, where the associates will learn about the ADL and their specific projects. At the program’s mid-point, they invite participating firms and their associates to join ADL’s annual Supreme Court Review Videoconference with renowned constitutional law scholars. The program will conclude with a Closing Cocktail Reception, where the students will have an opportunity to share their research, and participating law firms and law schools will receive public recognition for their generous partnership.

Submission components: If you are interested in participating in the 2018 SARP, please send your resume to Randee Breiter

(*once approved, you will be given a list of topics to select from and more instructions)
