SCHOLARSHIP update:

CUBAN AMERICAN BAR FOUNDATION AT-LARGE SCHOLARSHIPS [DEADLINE: AUGUST 15, 2015]

Eligibility:

  • Currently-admitted or enrolled law student in good academic standing
  • Is Cuban or Cuban-American and has distinguished himself/herself academically and/or in service-oriented activities; or
  • Has distinguished himself/herself in research, writing, community service, leadership positions and/or other activities of importance to the Cuban-American community

*Preference may be shown to applicants who demonstrate financial need, but such need is not a prerequisite for a scholarship award

Requirements:

Submission components: (1) Essay (no more than 1,000 words) describing how the applicant is qualified pursuant to the eligibility criteria set forth above (applicants who wish to detail financial need must do so within this word limit as well), (2) resume, and (3) transcript

17TH ANNUAL NATIONAL LAW STUDENTS WORKERS’ RIGHTS CONFERENCE [REGISTRATION DEADLINE: AUGUST 27, 2015 / OCTOBER 1, 2015]

Students will meet an impressive lineup of speakers and workshop leaders, including keynote speaker M. Patricia Smith, Solicitor of Labor, U.S. Department of Labor. Attendees should have a demonstrated interest in either workers’ rights issues or public interest law.

When: October 16-17, 2015
