THE COMMITTEE ON ANIMALS & THE LAW OF THE NEW YORK STATE BAR ASSOCIATION – 12TH ANNUAL STUDENT WRITING COMPETITION [DEADLINE: JULY 9, 2021]
Topic: An article concerning any area of Animal Law

The Committee also reserves the right to offer the winners (and other entrants), at the Committee’s discretion, the opportunity to publish his/her paper in the Committee’s Laws & Paws publication
Submission guidelines: (1) Typed, double spaced, no less than 12 point Times New Roman font, on 8½ inch by 11 inch paper, with 1 inch margins, and no more than 25 pages, including footnotes; (2) Footnotes should be single spaced, and no less than 10 point font; (3) Entrants must submit a cover page indicating the entrant’s name, law school, expected year of graduation, mailing address, email address, and telephone number. All other references to identifying information, such as name, law school, and contact information should be deleted or redacted from the body of the submission.

AIPLA WRITING COMPETITION – ROBERT C. WATSON AWARD [DEADLINE: JUNE 30, 2021]
AIPLA has sponsored this student competition for many years to encourage interest in intellectual property issues. Judges will consider the merit of the article as a contribution to the knowledge respecting intellectual property and the extent to which it displays original and creative thought or information not previously written or published by the author prior to July 1, 2020.
Eligibility: To be eligible for consideration, the article must have been written solely by a student or students either in full-time attendance at a law school (day or evening) or prepared in connection with a law school course
Topic: A subject relating to the protection of intellectual property
Awards: The winner will receive reasonable expense reimbursement to attend the AIPLA Annual Meeting, Oct. 28 – 30, 2021 in Washington DC, to receive their award
Submission guidelines: (1) Papers should be approximately the equivalent of 10 law review pages, including footnotes (30 – 40 pages typed copy); (2) submission must be made in PDF or text format; (3) submission must include the submitter’s name, current address, current telephone number, and employment information, if applicable.
