THE STANDING COMMITTEE ON PROFESSIONALISM (SCOP) FELLOWSHIP
The scope and function of the Standing Committee on Professionalism (SCOP) is to assist the Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism and the Henry Latimer Center for Professionalism in implementing programs, events, and activities to promote professionalism throughout the state. The Florida Bar’s Standing Committee on Professionalism works with the Commission and Center in fulfilling the vision and mission. The FIU College of Law Center for Professionalism and Ethics is a resource clearinghouse for articles in partnership with the Henry Latimer Center.
As a SCOP fellow, you will review and collect potential ethics and professionalism cases and articles for the clearinghouse. You will also work with the members of the committee to prepare quarterly reports of the cases articles found.
Time commitment: There is no hourly commitment for this project, but you should commit to completing at least 30 hours for at least one semester

LSRJ – REPRODUCTIVE JUSTICE FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM (RJFP) [DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 3, 2014]
In 2010, LSRJ launched a funded legal fellowship program for current 3Ls and recent law school graduates interested in working to advance reproductive justice through policy advocacy. Following a tremendous response from students and advocates in the field, LSRJ successfully selected and placed 6 Reproductive Justice (RJ) Fellows with 6 organizations in Washington, D.C. for the 2010-2011 fellowship year.
The RJFP is intended to enhance capacity at reproductive justice organizations working to influence law and policy and to build a pipeline for future reproductive justice lawyers. The RJ Fellows are each paid $50,000 plus benefits and placed with placement organizations in Washington, D.C. for a year-long program (running August to August) that includes mentoring, professional development, training, and networking opportunities.
Given the increasingly volatile and hostile climate surrounding women’s reproductive health and rights, LSRJ is deeply gratified by the passion displayed by these new lawyers to pursue work in reproductive rights, health, and justice. We are thrilled to be able to provide entry points into the field and to help build capacity at organizations working to promote reproductive justice for all people.

- 2014-2015 GLOBAL JUSTICE FELLOWSHIPS [DEADLINE: ROLLING BASIS] Awarded to highly qualified law students or recent graduates in support of atrocity prevention and accountability, with particular emphasis on the ABA-ICC Project. Fellowships are funded by the Planethood Foundation, an organization established by Ben Ferencz, the last surviving Nuremburg prosecutor and his son, Don, to promote international justice, rule of law, and conflict resolution. - SECTION OF TAXATION CHRISTINE A. BRUNSWICK PUBLIC SERVICE FELLOWSHIP [DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 14, 2014] Addresses the need for tax legal assistance, and to foster an interest in tax-related public service among those individuals who participate.
- CIVIL LIBERTIES UNION LEGISLATIVE OFFICE 2015 SUMMER LEGAL INTERNSHIP [DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 14, 2014] Legal interns will work on a wide variety of issues. Interns will work closely with Legislative Counsels and Lobbyists, whose area of focus matches the intern’s specific area of civil liberties interest.
- BUSINESS LAW SECTION DIVERSITY CLERKSHIP PROGRAM [DEADLINE: DECEMBER 26, 2014] The Business Law Section Diversity Clerkship Program encourages students to pursue business court clerkship opportunities and to consider careers in the practice of business law by placing 9 students in business courts across the country, and providing a $6,000 stipend.
- SUMMER 2015 JUDICIAL INTERN OPPORTUNITY PROGRAM [DEADLINE: JANUARY 9, 2015] Designed to place diverse law students with state and federal judges for summer internships.
FELLOWSHIPS AT AUSCHWITZ FOR THE STUDY OF PROFESSIONAL ETHICS (FASPE) [DEADLINE: DECEMBER 2014 – JANUARY 2015]
FASPE is a set of innovative programs for students in professional schools designed to address contemporary ethical issues through a unique historical context. The Fellowships provide journalism, law, medical, seminary, and business students with a structured program of study that initially focuses on the role of their chosen professions in Nazi Germany and the Holocaust and uses that historic focus as a framework for the consideration of contemporary ethical issues. Through an all-expenses-paid two-week summer intensive course in New York, Germany, and Poland, students will explore such topics as The Rule of Law vs. Lawlessness; The Role and Limits of Bioethics; The Goals of Morality in the Face of Evil; The Responsibility to Report; and Ethical Limitations on Profit-Seeking.
