SCHOLARSHIP update:

H.T. SMITH LEGAL STUDIES SCHOLARSHIP FOR 2021-2022 ACADEMIC YEAR [DEADLINE: JUNE 1, 2021]

Like many companies, the law firm of Kluger, Kaplan, Silverman, Katzen & Levine, P.L. realizes that some minorities have not historically had the same opportunities as non-minorities. Consequently, we established the H.T. Smith Legal Studies Scholarship in 2021 in an effort to provide financial support for minority law school students who have strong connections with the South Florida community. The scholarship gives financial assistance to recipient law students and provides them with an opportunity to be a law clerk with our firm, with the hope that they will pursue their legal careers in South Florida. The H.T. Smith Legal Studies Scholarship will be awarded to one student annually for as long as funds are available.

Eligibility: Although any law student may apply for the scholarship, preference for award of the H.T. Smith Legal Studies Scholarship will be given to second year law school students who come from traditionally underrepresented racial and ethnic minority groups, and who are actively involved in giving back to the community through volunteer efforts or participation among local organizations.

Award: Scholarship recipients will receive $10,000 in financial assistance to a law school in Florida, and will be considered for a 4 to 6-week clerkship at Kluger, Kaplan, Silverman, Katzen & Levine as well as an attorney position following their graduation from law school and completion of their Florida Bar requirements.
