IMMIGRATION JUSTICE CORPS (IJC) – JUSTICE FELLOWSHIP [DEADLINE: OCT. 28, 2020]
Each year IJC awards Justice Fellowships to approximately 25 recent law graduates from around the country – individuals with tremendous talent, promise, and a demonstrated commitment to providing legal services for low income people and immigrants.
IJC trains Justice Fellows to become experts in immigration law and pairs them with leading non-profit legal services providers and community based organizations. IJC matches selected Fellows with our partnering host organizations based on the applicant’s experience and interest, gaps in services within the community, location interests, and partnering host organizations’ needs.
Justice Fellows represent immigrants in an array of immigration matters including:
- Removal defense
- Affirmative asylum applications
- Relief available to juveniles and victims of crime, domestic violence, or human trafficking

U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING & URBAN DEVELOPMENT (HUD) – LEGAL HONORS PROGRAM [DEADLINE: NOV. 2, 2020]
HUD’s Legal Honors Program is designed for law students graduating from J.D. and LLM programs, and recent law school graduates completing a judicial clerkship. The Legal Honors Program is HUD’s only hiring program for entry-level attorneys.
Legal Honors are assigned either to Headquarters or a Regional Office. During the program, all Legal Honors are given the opportunity to complete rotations across OGC functions and within other Federal agencies if elected. Rotations may include: Assisted Housing, Community Development, Fair Housing, Insured Housing, Legislations and Regulations, Litigation, Mortgage Backed Securities, Personnel and Ethics, Procurement Law, Program Enforcement, and Real Estate and transactional work. Legal Honors will receive their permanent work placement upon successful completion of the 14-month appointment and bar admission. Legal Honors are assigned mentors, receive training, and participate in monthly discussions to enhance their experience and professional development. The target position upon conversion is a GS-12 Trial Attorney or Attorney Advisor with a full performance level of GS-14.

U.S. COPYRIGHT OFFICE – SPRING 2021 PROGRAM FOR LAW CLERKS (INTERNSHIP)
The United States Copyright Office provides expert leadership and advice on copyright law and policy to the United States Congress, federal agencies, the courts, and the general public. The mission of the Copyright Office is to promote creativity by administering and sustaining an effective national copyright system.
The Copyright Office has Fall 2020 positions available for unpaid law clerks in the Office of the General Counsel, Office of Policy and International Affairs, Office of Public Information and Education, and the Office of Registration Policy and Practice. These units interpret the U.S. Copyright Act and advise Congress, executive branch agencies, and others on domestic and international policy matters. In addition, Copyright Office attorneys support work on critical projects and priorities of the Register of Copyrights, including legislative and policy initiatives, operational enhancements, and public outreach efforts.
Projects of law clerks include:
- Attending congressional hearings, industry events, and roundtables
- Drafting portions of Copyright Office communications and reports
- Joining in meetings with stakeholders or domestic and foreign officials
- Conducting legal research and drafting memoranda
Who: Candidates for a law clerk position must either presently be enrolled in, or have graduated from, an accredited law school; have a demonstrated interest or background in copyright law as shown by relevant coursework or otherwise; and possess excellent research, writing, and editing abilities
