BUSINESS LAW SECTION (BLS) OF THE FLORIDA BAR: VIRTUAL ANNUAL RETREAT [SEPT. 2-4, 2020]
BLS would like to invite any FIU Law student who is interested in attending any of the Annual Retreat committee events or programs to participate. Each committee meeting has a separate Zoom link, and anyone can join. Here are a few examples of the events law students might particularly enjoy:
- Sept. 2 1:00 p.m. Inclusion/Mentoring/Fellowship and Membership Committee Joint Meeting (these committees are in charge of the Fellows and Scholars Programs for law students and young lawyers)
- Sept. 3 12:15 p.m. BLS Judicial Round Table (this is an event featuring primarily business court judges)
- Sept. 3 6:00 p.m. IMF Networking Event (this is a reception to introduce our BLS Fellows)
*The only event that we request the students not join is the Executive Council Meeting on Friday, September 4, at 9:00 a.m., as this meeting is mandatory for all BLS committee chairs, co-chairs, and liaisons, and it would be unwieldy to have too many people join remotely.

AIPLA 2020 DESIGN RIGHTS BOOT CAMP [EVERY THURSDAY SEPT. 3-24, 2020]
The 3rd Annual AIPLA Design Rights Boot Camp has moved online and is now a four part, online, CLE program (1.5 CLE) designed for new IP practitioners, or those new to design rights, who wish to learn about protecting designs in all areas of IP, including copyright, trade dress, and design patents. We also have a session on protecting designs in the EU, including with copyright, registered designs and unregistered designs.
When: Every Thursday in Sept. @ 12:30-2 P.M. EDT + @ 2-3 P.M. for an opportunity to speak with the presenters and network with other attendees
