SCHOLARSHIP update:


LABOR & EMPLOYMENT SECTION OF THE FLORIDA BAR – SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY [DEADLINE: FEB. 1, 2018]

Candidates will be selected by the Law School Liaison Committee of the Labor & Employment Section of the Florida Bar by Apr. 2018 and are subject to the approval of each candidate’s law school. 

Eligibility: 2Ls and 3Ls enrolled as a student in a Florida law school with a demonstrated interest in labor and employment law (students visiting from out-of-state schools are not eligible)

Awards:

  • $1,000 to one student or $500 if split between two candidates
  • A a recognition plaque from the Section
  • Reasonable travel expenses can be reimbursed up to $350 to attend the Section’s Award Ceremony & Hall of Fame Induction on June 14, 2018 in Orlando during the Florida Bar’s Annual Convention (travel expenses can include 1 night of conference hotel expense)

Requirements:

Submission components: (1) Cover page that includes: (a) contact information, school, and year (2L or 3L); (b) completed and anticipated labor and employment related course work (identifying when courses were taken/will be taken); (c) relevant professional experience (can include job/intern placements for the summer of 2018); (d) your involvement in school organizations (including Law Review and journals) and any pro bono/volunteer activity [*in lieu of the above, you may submit a resume, which is supplemented with your relevant course work]; (2) 250-500 word statement expressing your interest in labor and employment law
