LATINOJUSTICE PRLDEF – FALL 2016-17 PUBLIC INTEREST FELLOWSHIP [DEADLINE: JULY 31, 2015]

LatinoJustice PRLDEF seeks to sponsor energetic, motivated candidates with a record of commitment to social justice issues. Salary is determined by LatinoJustice PRLDEF’s contract salary scale, as set forth by collective bargaining, which is comparable to other public interest organizations. Fringe benefits include health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance as well as vacation and medical leave.

Who: Applicants must be law students who will graduate by June 2016 or recent graduates completing a judicial clerkship in 2015-16

Where: Fellowship geographic service areas are the greater metropolitan NY-NJ area from their NYC office; or Central Florida from their new Southeastern Regional Office in Orlando

When: Commencing Fall 2016

Requirements:

Skills: (1) Excellent legal research, writing and communication skills, and (2) bilingual Spanish/English fluency required

Submission components: (1) Resume, (2) academic transcript, and (3) cover letter describing your proposed fellowship project

They invite applicants to submit a fellowship proposal outline, which should describe how the proposed project fits within LatinoJustice’s mission and their current litigation priorities. Proposals should also identify potential law reform litigation as part of the fellowship project. They will also work with candidates to identify and create a winning fellowship proposal.
