CIVIL RIGHTS DIVISION (CRT), U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE (DOJ) – CHIEF EMPLOYMENT COUNSEL [DEADLINE: MAY 6, 2015 BY 11:59 P.M. ET]
The core duties of the Chief Employment Counsel include: Provides legal advice and counsel to the Office of the Assistant Attorney General (OAAG), Division management and human resource staff regarding the full range of employment matters, including, but not limited to, hiring and other personnel policies, disciplinary and other adverse personnel actions, formal and informal equal employment opportunity related complaints, grievances, and requests for reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities.
Works proactively with managers and employees to resolve employment related disputes informally through mediation; and, as necessary and appropriate, represents the OAAG and/or Division managers in administrative and court proceedings in connection with complaints and grievances involving current and former Division employees and applicants.
Serves as the Division’s primary point of contact with other federal agency components, such as the Department’s Equal Employment Opportunity Office and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), on matters involving complaints by or the conduct of current and former Division employees and applicants.
More broadly, advises on and/or consults with others within the Department and at other federal agencies regarding prospective Division and/or Department employment-related policies, practices, laws, rules and regulations.
Salary: $121,956.00 to $183,300.00 / Per Year.
Travel: The position requires occasional travel.

Qualifications: Applicants must possess an extensive knowledge and expertise in federal equal employment opportunity (EEO) laws, rules and regulations, including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Rehabilitation Act and merit system principles. Applicants also must have strong interpersonal, leadership, organizational, editing and writing, and oral communication skills.
Specialized Education and Licensing: You must be a graduate of a law school accredited by the American Bar Association and be a member in good standing of a state, territory of the United States, District of Columbia, or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico bar.

- Knowledge and experience in federal employment law.

K880 EMERGING CITY CHAMPIONS FELLOWSHIP [DEADLINE: MAY 8, 2015]
The K880 Emerging City Champions Fellowship is open for applications from young civic innovators with ideas to make their cities more livable.
The fellowship will equip 24 young leaders with the skills, knowledge, and support they need to make immediate and lasting impact in their communities.
Successful applicants will receive:
- A $5,000 grant to implement their project idea.
- An all-expense paid trip to the K880 Emerging City Champions Studio in Toronto, Canada where they will receive practical training from established civic leaders.
- Ongoing support from 8-80 Cities and a professional mentor in their related field.
Who: To be eligible, applicants must be:
- Between the ages of 19-35.
- Live in one of the eight Knight resident communities mentioned above. Their project idea must also benefit a community in that city.
- Available to attend the K880 Emerging City Champions Studio in Toronto in June 2015.
Where: Supported by Knight Foundation and led by 8-80 Cities, the fellowship is open to innovators based in the eight resident communities where Knight invests: Akron, Ohio; Charlotte, N.C.; Detroit; Macon, Ga.; Miami; Philadelphia; San Jose, Calif.; and St. Paul, Minn.

11TH ANNUAL SOUTHEASTERN INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY JOB FAIR (SIPJF) [DEADLINE: MAY 20, 2015]
The Southeastern Intellectual Property Job Fair® is the largest IP job fair in the region. Organized by the Career Services Office and the Georgia State University College of Law’s Intellectual Property Advisory Board, it is made possible by student volunteers, alumni and staff.
The job fair spans across all industries and types of organizations and encompasses all areas of intellectual property, including litigation, transactional work and prosecution. PaTech, the Patent Agent-Technical Advisers Program, returns this year for employers seeking patent agents and technical advisers.
The Student Registration portal for the 11th Annual SIPJF is now open through May 20, 2015. Registered students will receive Symplicity logon instructions on or before May 26. From May 26 – June 9, registered candidates will use SIPJF’s Symplicity to upload resumes and other requested documents to bid on employers of interest.
