EQUAL JUSTICE WORKS – AMERICORPS JD [NEW ADDITIONAL SLOTS AVAILABLE TO START THIS JULY 2014]

Equal Justice Works AmeriCorps JD program has some additional slots available to start this month. Through AmeriCorps JD, law students focusing on any area of civil public interest law can earn a $1,175 Segal AmeriCorps Education Award. AmeriCorps JD is also an exciting way to get connected to the various resources that Equal Justice Works offers to public interest law students.

Who/When: Looking for students who:

  • Can begin service in July 2014; and
  • Can complete 300 hours of service in a 12 month period (by July 2015)

Service includes training and substantive work, and can include research or additional projects for an internship even though a student may not physically be in the office past the summer months.

*Time is of the essence – students must start this month! If you are currently at or planning an internship at an organization (including legal aid, public defender, nonprofit organizations, or local, county or state government agencies) you are encouraged to apply to AmeriCorps JD today.

2014-2015 VIRTUAL STUDENT FOREIGN SERVICE (VSFS) eINTERNSHIP [DEADLINE: JULY 22, 2014]

You can intern with U.S. Embassies around the world and in Washington, D.C. while you’re at school. Internships with U.S. Government agencies give you real experience working with government offices in the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Agency for International Development, the Broadcasting Board of Governors, the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Commerce, the Department of Education, etc.

eInterns work about 10 hours each week directly with their office to do research, social media, website design, data visualization, reporting, teaching, and more much. These intern positions are unpaid. U.S. citizenship required.

ENTRY LEVEL ASSOCIATE– GONZALO PEREZ, JR. P.A. [DEADLINE: AUGUST 4, 2014]

Gonzalo Perez, Jr. P.A. is seeking Entry Level Associate to handle general civil cases, including condominium lien foreclosure, mortgage foreclosure, collections, real estate, probate and estate planning. Entry level associate will handle all aspects of cases. Must not be afraid to work overtime hours. Compensation of $50,000 per year.

Who: Associate with 0-3 years of experience, graduated from an ABA-accredited law school

FALL INTERNSHIP – THE OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL’S CONSUMER PROTECTION / ECONOMIC CRIMES DIVISION [DEADLINE: AUGUST 6, 2014]

The Office of the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection/Economic Crimes Division seeks interns who are eager to work collaboratively on a team of attorneys and investigators to prosecute consumer fraud through agency investigations and civil litigation in Florida state courts.

Who: 2Ls and 3Ls (and LLM students)

Where: FTL, MIA, or WPB

When: Internships require a minimum of 20 hours per week

Requirements: All applicants selected for an interview will need to complete a background check

Skills: (1.) Academic success in law school, and (2.) strong research skills

SPRING 2015 WHITE HOUSE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM [DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 7, 2014]

The application for the Spring 2015 White House Internship Program is now open. The White House Internship Program provides a unique opportunity to gain valuable professional experience and build leadership skills. This hands-on program is designed to mentor and cultivate today’s young leaders, strengthen their understanding of the Executive Office of the President and engage them in public service opportunities.

Submission components: A complete application includes: (1) Short answers, (2) 2 essay questions, (3) a 1-page resume, and (4) 2 letters of recommendation
